While the term 'fortunate' may seem like a contradiction in terms, the writer can use this concept to develop the character's mindset. The writer should be creative in the details of the statement. Tom, however, is surprised when Anna tells him that she is also dating his classmate, whom he quickly dismisses as just another ugly person.
